Building for a gym and tennis school at the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona. This is a building with a ground floor, basement and first floor, with a programme of directed activities and fitness rooms, tennis school, physiotherapy area and storerooms.

The great challenge of the project, the result of a restricted competition, has been, on the one hand, the relationship with the magnificent building of the Correa y Milán Clubhouse, opting for a different language, closer to a sports infrastructure in the form of a pavilion, and on the other, the relationship with the courts, the members, the accesses and the day-to-day running of the different activities.

The volumetry is arranged in such a way as to take advantage of all the space available at the urban planning level to resolve the programme of needs, some 1,500 m², resulting in an irregular geometry in the basement, which becomes more orderly on the ground floor, to end up being a parallelepiped of plant forms, arranged on top.

This raised pavilion, supported on an irregular base of very different uses and spaces, due to the pre-existence of the surroundings, becomes the formal protagonist of the facility, opening up like a lantern towards the tennis courts.

Vertically, the three floors are linked by a linear staircase in front of the core of communications, facilities and services.

The building is materialised with fair-faced concrete walls, a ventilated zinc façade and exterior aluminium and glass joinery, and a green roof.
