Deslite

Renovation and architectural transformation of an industrial site, located in the western part of Poblenou, built in the mid-19th century: the former Deslite factory, suitable for 36 non-conventional, loft-type dwellings.
Formed by the grouping of two buildings, located on a very irregular plot and facing two different streets.
The two buildings facing Carrer Avila and Avinguda Icària have ground floor and first floor and have very little façade area, so that the entry of natural light was resolved by means of saw-toothed roofs.

The different façades have the same formal solutions, very common in industrial buildings in the area and from the same period: stone plinth, exposed brickwork, concrete joinery, markedly horizontal with quarters, and large artificial stone frames that unify the different windows to create a large architectural void, in the manner of a brise-soleil.

Deslite brings authenticity, contrast and connection with the origins of the neighbourhood.

The building is BREEAM certified for sustainable construction.
