La Farinera

The project of the industrial site of Can Gili Vell, consisting of a grain mill and a flour tower and several warehouses, begins with the drafting of a PMU, an example of urban surgery in which the reinterpretation of the uses, languages and types of spaces make up a successful model.

Removing all construction without added value, the enclosure is opened up, the courtyard becomes a square and the buildings (rehabilitated and new plant) are placed around it.
The industrial building is organised around a courtyard/linear axis in which accesses and circulations are located. The resulting units (56 lofts) are unique pieces, each one with its own geometric and structural singularity.
The language of the façade combines the parts which are 100% recovered with those that are reinterpreted, achieving a good balance.
